The Statue Walk

The Statue Walk is dominated by four statues of Socrates, Licurgus, Epaminondas and Homerus by Scheemakers, originally in the Temple of Ancient Virtue at Stowe. Opposite is a billowing, long herbaceous border in soft purples and pinks, backing on to a warm south facing red brick wall adorned with roses Generous Gardener and Mortimer Sackler. This border is planted as a tapestry to be seen from above and contains interesting plants such as Centaurea Carnea, Erigeron Quakeress, Sanguisorba Lilac Squirrel and Agastache Black Adder.
